Today is a big day in our classroom! Addie BEAT MR. DAUGHERTY ON A MULTIPLICATION TIMED TEST!!! She has been working toward this goal the entire year and today all that hard work paid off! Congratulations to Addison!!

Students were working very hard to solve a magic Christmas tree worksheet where they had to make all the sides of the tree equal the same sum. It was VERY DIFFICULT. Congratulations to Hope for being the first one to figure it out!! WELL DONE!!

Does organic food taste better?
The kids taste-tested carrots, apples, and cereal to see if they could tell which one was organic and which one was non-organic. They were surprised with the results! The only one they got right were the carrots.

We now have access to Spelling City! I thought that the Spelling City website was a pay only option. I just found out that you can still access a limited part of the site for FREE! I sent home letters today that explains how to access the website and our lists. I have already put the Earth's First Creatures list on there. Kindergarten Reading Buddies
Every Thursday at 2:00 we head down to the kindergarten wing and read a story to our reading buddy. The kids, both kindergarten and 4th grade, are enjoying the time they are spending together!

STATES and CAPITALS Test is coming up! I handed out a list of states and capitals to the kids. They will need to study at home. We will do some review in class, also.
The test is Friday, October 16th.
The test will be in a matching format. Students will choose the capital from the list and write it next to the state it matches. If you have any questions, please let me know! :)

Giuseppe made it "Off the Chart" on the first day of school! He is the first one to earn that achievement on the first day of school in 14 years!! What an excellent role model for our school! Way to go, Pepe!!
Mr. Trashketball
Trashketball is a game we play when we practice math facts or review vocabulary. If a student answers his or her question correctly, they get the chance to shoot a looooooong shot with our trashketball. Not only did Luke know the answer to his question, he nailed his Trashketball shot!! We're talking about 10 feet at least with a duct tape ball down the hallway into the (empty) trashcan! AMAZING!! Luke won auction tickets for his skills!
